G. "LUCILLE" STARR

G. "Lucille" Starr, 91, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, followed by burial in the Wyoming Cemetery.
Lucille was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Stanley Waggoner and Tena Husmann. She married Donald Starr on Oct. 23, 1943, at Wayne Church in Monticello.
She was a clerical worker for the Jones County Treasurer's office. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wyoming and also part of the Eveready Club in Wyoming. She enjoyed golf in her earlier years and also reading, cooking and traveling.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Don Starr; a son, Jim (Alexandria) Starr of Virginia; a daughter, Cindy (Tim) Knutson of Wapello; a daughter-in-law, Gale Starr of Winterset; her grandchildren, Jason and Bart Starr and Geneva and Alana Knutson; and her great-grandchildren, Drake and Brody Starr.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry, in 1994; her parents and one brother, Leo Waggoner.
