Mary E. (See) Furler, 85, of Ely, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with the Rev. Julie Schuett presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. A private family inurnment will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Solon.
Mary was born July 13, 1926, in rural Ely, the daughter of Frederick and Frances (Reif) See. She married Ralph Furler on Jan. 5, 1948, in Ely. They later divorced. Mary was a waitress in Cedar Rapids most of her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and making jewelry trees.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jan (Sharon) Furler of Ely, Mark (Peg Reagan) Furler of Gold Beach, Ore., and Kevin Furler of Cedar Rapids; four grandsons, Jason (Brandy) Furler, Nate Furler (Jason Rausch), Garth (Lisa) Furler and Brian Reagan; and great-grandsons, Landry, Lawson and Dakota Furler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jill; brothers; Chris See, Jack See and Chuck See; and a sister, Ella Parks.
The family would like to thank the Solon Nursing Care Center for all their help and care for Mary over the last three years.
