Funeral arrangements set for pilot killed in Monticello
MONTICELLO - Funeral arrangements for a pilot killed July 1 in a fatal plane crash have been announced.
A memorial service for Jerry Naylor, 90, of Scotch Grove, takes place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Community Christ Church, 1500 Blairs Ferry Road, Hiawatha. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is handling the arrangements.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel, 4200 First Ave. NE in Cedar Rapids, and one hour before the service on Saturday.
Naylor died after the plane he was piloting crashed into a cornfield near the Monticello Regional Airport at 4 p.m., authorities said.
Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board officials are investigating the crash.
A celebration of Naylor's life will be held in Monticello at a later date, according to the funeral home.
