Fullmer, Leverne F.
Leverne F. Fullmer, 88, of 1345 Sierra Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: noon Tuesday, June 1, at Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Lyle Fullmer of Temple, Texas, and Debra Fullmer of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Logan Fullmer, Morgan (Sara) Fullmer and Melissa Fullmer, all of Temple, Texas; stepchildren, Barry (Suzy) Schmitz of Gilbert, Ariz., Bryan Schmitz of Cedar Rapids and Darrin (Dana) Schmitz of Hiawatha; stepgrandchildren, Janelle Brooker, Jake Schmitz, Alyssa Schmitz and Madison Schmitz; sister, Leonore Sleeuwenhoek of Victor, Iowa; and nephew, Lynn (Kim) Sleeuwenhoek, and their children, Derek and Brittany.
Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Victor, Iowa, Leverne was the son of Frank and Elsie (Carl) Fullmer. On May 27, 1985, he was united in marriage to Janet Ahrens in Cedar Rapids. Leverne engaged in farming and worked for Amana Refrigeration, retiring in 1978 after 30 years.
Leverne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and the AFL-CIO.
