Fuller, Ray C.
Ray C. Fuller, 84, of 1013 Raney St., Hiawatha, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include three daughters, Danette Fuller of Cedar Rapids, Linda Hernandez of Minneapolis and Rita Fuller of Oregon; a stepson, Alan Smith of Hiawatha; a stepdaughter, Kim (Kent) Cromer of Marion; a brother, Rex of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two wives.
Ray was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Boone, the son of Herman and Iva Blake Fuller. He graduated from Iowa State University, with a degree in engineering. He married Betty M. McCaskey on Jan. 9, 1951, in Missouri. She died in 1972. He later married Marilyn. L. Kreutzer on May 20, 1976, in Cedar Rapids. She died in 2010. Ray was an engineer at Rockwell-Collins and retired from there after 35 years of service.
Ray was a member of First Lutheran Church, where he was a deacon; the Electrical Engineering Association, and several investment clubs. He proudly served in the Navy. He enjoyed bowling, yard work, fishing, and especially time he spent with his beloved family and many friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
