Fuller, Ellen Marie
Ellen Marie Fuller, 71, of Springville, formerly of Central City, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Central City United Church of Christ. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Inurnment: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; her children, Shelley (Don Coonrod) Rabik of Springville, Becky Ellis of Marion, Russell (Linda) Rabik of Bertram, Robert (Lisa) Rabik of Center Point, and Larry “L.J.” (Jessica) Fuller of Central City; two sisters, Susan (Dave) Hartwell of Iowa City and Donna (Ernest) Akers of Epworth; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy “Butch” Taylor; son-in-law, Joey Ellis; and special friend and sister-in-law, Kathy Carnahan.
Ellen was born Dec. 27, 1940, at home in Waubeek, the daughter of William E. and Viola (Wilcox) Taylor. She attended grade school at Prairieburg Public School and graduated from Coggon High School in 1958. Ellen married Larry Fuller on May 6, 1967.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ellen loved doing ceramics and painting and was very skilled at these crafts. She worked in many places over the years, but before her retirement, she worked for Walmart and cherished the friends she made there!
Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, whose sense of humor was appreciated by all. Her incredible spirit and spunk saw her through to the end.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospice and Ellen's friends and family who have helped to take care of her.
