Paul was born Aug. 9, 1917, on the family farm in rural Iowa City, the son of Leonard and Mabel (Wickham) Fuhrmeister. On Jan. 22, 1947, Paul married Alice E. In his free time, Paul loved playing cards, dancing and traveling. Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Eagles Lodge, Farm Bureau and was a former weather spotter for the National Weather Service. Most importantly, Paul really enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
