Fugate, Marjorie Lucille Long
Marjorie Lucille Long Fugate, 83, of Cedar Rapids, was called home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Covenant Bible Church. A private family burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda K. Barnett and husband Brenton L. of Fairfax, Judith A. Fedde and husband C. Steve of Forest Hill, Md., and Laura M. Fugate of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Donald Kline of Williamsburg, Va., sister-in-law, Bertha Long of Marion; seven grandchildren, Brenda L. Rawson, Brook L. Goodson and husband Quinn, Jill C. Pollack and husband Kevin, Heather N. Vahl, April N. Graham and husband Robert, Andrew C. Fedde and wife Tiffany and Mitchell L. Fedde; and eight great-grandchildren, Jade T. Rawson, Breanna L. Goodson, Bryce A. Goodson, Alexandria M. Graham, Robert A. Graham, Joseph S. Pollack, Sophia G. Pollack and Noah C. Fedde.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert L. Fugate on Sept. 12, 1997; two brothers, Emerson C. Long and Robert C. Long; two sisters, Ruth A. Pueschel and Ina Belle Kline; and son-in-law, Gilbert R. Vahl.
Marjorie was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar C. and Lucy Belle (Thompson) Long. She married Robert L. Fugate on March 2, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a computer instructor, owning her own business SCT for Smart Computer Technique. She loved to perform vocal and instrumental music and travel with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous, Aid to Women and Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
