Frye, Joann Marilyn

Joann Marilyn Frye, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Hallmar on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Interment: St. John Cemetery. A vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include her cousins, Anna (Nick) Homan, Ruth Wesbrook and Richard Frye, all of Cedar Rapids, and Richard Meinen of Medford, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joann was born April 20, 1937, in Clinton, to Francis and Anna Frye. She worked for Burlington Northern for many years, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary and St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Euchre and cribbage and spending time with her extended family. She especially loved the Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
