Fritz, Edwin Lee
Edwin Lee Fritz, 55, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his residence following a sudden illness. Funeral Services were held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Father Ardel Barta officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Urbana. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Edwin was born Jan. 29, 1958, in Davenport to Lester and Zelma (Hein) Fritz. He had been employed as a roofer with D.C. Taylor and most recently, Edwin did odd jobs for people.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Marlene of Vinton; his daughter, Tiffany Fritz of Garrison; his foster son, Jason Stout; his grandchildren, Alesha, Nicole and Kassidi Brunssen and Payton Stout; his parents, Lester and Louise Fritz of Vinton; his sisters, Joan (Bob) Jindrich of West Branch, Marjorie (William) McVey of Galesburg, Ill.; and his brothers, Michael (Esmeralda) Moore of Chicago and Merrill (Carol) Moore of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma.
