Frevert, Henry A.
Henry A. Frevert, 92, passed away at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, on April 19, 2010. Formerly of Des Moines, Henry moved to Marion in 2004 and was a resident of Village Place. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Henry “Hank” was born March 12, 1918, in Odebolt, Iowa. A 1939 graduate of Iowa State University, he had a 42-year career at Iowa Power & Light Co. (now MidAmerican Energy) as a chemical and construction engineer. On Sept. 4, 1943, Hank married Mary Mae Anderson. They were married for 63 years until Mary's passing.
He is survived by three children: daughter, Barbara (Joseph) Hindorff of Mesa, Ariz.; and sons, Dennis Frevert of Marion and Richard (Susan) Frevert of Plymouth, Minn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Hank left many friends in Des Moines and made many new ones in Marion. He was known for his kind, pleasant, humorous soul and the chocolate chip cookies he shared with everyone who crossed his path.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his name to Red Cedar Chamber Music, P.O. Box 154 Marion, IA 52302-0154.
