Freeman, Ernest William 'Bill'
Ernest William “Bill” Freeman, 68, of Fairhope, Ala., passed away April 11, 2010. A memorial service honoring Bill will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 18 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, LeClaire. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce of Fairhope; three children, six grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, Grady and Delores Freeman of Davenport; and a nephew, Robert Freeman Custer of Cane Creek, Ariz.
After graduating from Davenport High School in 1959, Bill served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. While he was in the Air Force, Bill received the Air Force Commendation Medal and Red Cross Certificate of Merit for saving a 12-year-old boy from drowning.
In 1972, Bill married Joyce Elaine Hamilton of Cedar Rapids.
Bill was founder, president and CEO of Graphic Media Products in Gulf Shores, Ala., a major supplier to the printed circuit industry.
