Frederick George Kasper, 83, of Iowa City, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at the Kathy Hospice, West Bend, Wis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kathy Hospice, 3232 Pleasant Valley Rd., West Bend, WI 53095.
Fred was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Swisher, Iowa, and lived for many years in North Liberty and Iowa City. He graduated from University High School, served in the National Guard and worked for over 40 years at Ford dealerships in Iowa City.
He loved camping, traveling to Texas and spending time with family.
Fred is survived by his wife, Katherine (Rohret) Kasper; a daughter, Jeannette (Steven) Choate; granddaughter, Michelle (George) Behlke; brothers-in-law, John D. Meade, Dean Rohret, Kenneth Finken and Gene Bell; sister-in-law, Shirley (Tom) Skay; and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Edith (Cole) Kasper; sister, Doris Meade; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bell, Margaret Finken and Karen Rohret.
