Freddie G. "Harguss" Potter, 47, of Monmouth, died Monday evening, Nov. 3, 2014, as the result of injuries suffered in a traffic accident on Highway 64 and Landis Road one mile east of Anamosa. Friends and family may gather for a Remembrance Service and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Monmouth Community Center. Burial will be at a later date in the Canton, Iowa, Cemetery.
Those left to honor Freddie's memory include his wife, Melissa Jan Potter of Monmouth; children, Elisa Anderson, Haley Bowman and Kelsie Bowman, all of Salem, Ore., and Lauren Switzer and Benjamin Potter, both of Monmouth; three grandchildren, Tayzzen, Serenity and Jaycee; his father and stepmom, Fred and Brenda Potter of Canton; his mother, Joyce Marie Nyikus of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Tanya Potter of Lost Nation, Angie McDermitt of Mesa, Ariz., and Lacie Potter of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Nathan Potter of Canton.
The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
