Freda Marie Williams, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories State Room. There will be a private family service with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required.
Freda was born June 1, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick and Dorothy (Wilkinson) Nordgren. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967. Freda married Terry Williams Nov. 13, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, they later divorced. She worked for the Cedar Rapids Recreation Commission and later worked for Transamerica, where she retired in 2015.
Freda is survived by her son, Trevin Allen Williams; brother, Gordy (Linda) Nordgren; nephew, Nickolas (Kimberly) Nordgren; great-niece Skylar Nordgren; stepniece, Jill (Scott) Radeke; stepgreat-nieces, Kaylee Radeke and Camryn Kellner; and stepgreat-nephew, Landon Paolucci.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
