Freda M. Kron, 95, of Kalona, formerly of Riverside, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Freda M. (Frank) Kron was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Leona (Mottet) Frank. On Feb. 4, 1941, Freda was united in marriage to Raymond J. Kron. The couple farmed together in the Riverside area all their lives. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside and enjoyed taking care of her family.
Survivors include her son, Gaylen "Boo" and wife Dee Kron of Riverside; six grandchildren, Rayna (Travis) Danielson, Jill Hartz, Bret (Amanda) Kron, Brian (Nancy) Cassady, Amanda (Tim) Peffer and Nancy (Andy) Timbs; seven great-grandchildren, Chad Klein, Dan (Rachel) Klein, Tanner and Breanna Hartz, Ana and Sara Cassady and Maryiah Kron; one great-great-grandson, Solomon Klein; one sister, Anita Sojka of Kalona; and one brother, Paul and wife Mary Frank of Iowa City.
Preceding Freda in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond; two sisters, Zelda Gerot and Ceola Gerot; and a brother, Robert Frank.
