Fred Eugene Reel, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Friday, Dec. 17, from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. with Dawn Stephens officiating. Interment Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Chapel Garden.
Fred was born Sept. 5, 1947, in Washington, Ind. He was the son of the late Clifford and Marjorie (Baumer) Reel. On Dec. 23, 1967, he married the love of his life, Judy Ann Hakes, in Iowa City, Iowa. Fred was a longtime member of the Carpenter's Union and lead estimator Precision Drywall.
Those left to cherish Fred's memory are his wife, Judy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sons, David (Christina) Reel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Rick (Ellen) Reel of Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Brandon, Bryceton and Christian Reel; siblings, Jim (Gloria) Reel of Agency, Iowa, and Barb Wagner of Illinois; and many aunts, nephew, and cousins in Indiana and Illinois.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved dog, Max; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the MS Society or to the American Cancer Society.
