Franzenburg, Lola H.
Lola H. Franzenburg, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with the Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Lola was born May 28, 1916, at Keystone, to Fred and Cecelia (Albers) Holst. On Dec. 14, 1937, she was united in marriage to Otto Franzenburg at Vinton. Otto preceded his wife in death in 1978.
Lola was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, where she enjoyed membership in the Home Mission Society. She was also a member of the Kane Homemakers and several card clubs.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Pat) Franzenburg of Belle Plaine, Raymond Franzenburg of Dysart, Phyllis Haack of Marengo, Linda (Dennis) Lettow of West Des Moines and Connie (John) Mullan of Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lucille Junge of Keystone.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Senne; her sisters, Esther Franzenburg, Stella Holst and Gladys Nissen; and her sons-in-law, Russell Haack and Don Senne.
