Frantz, Larry L.
Larry L. Frantz, 68, of Clarence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mears officiating. Burial: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Russell Cemetery, Russell. Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta; son, Gary of Denver Colo., daughter, Sherry (Larry) Bennett of DeSota; two grandchildren, Joshua and Michael Bennett; a brother, Darryl (Janet) of Alta; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard.
Larry was born Jan. 4, 1941 in Alta, Iowa, to Paul and Janet Thompson Frantz. He married Alberta Johnson on Sept. 2, 1962, at Humeston, Iowa.
Larry had worked as credit manager for the Clarence Cooperative from 1988 until retirement in 2001. He had been a school bus driver for North Cedar Schools for five years. Larry had volunteered as an a driver for Clarence Ambulance for several years, was a former Clarence City Council member, he was a member of St. John's Church and the Lions. Larry loved his family and enjoyed camping and fishing.
