Franklin, Jean Ann
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; her parents; and a brother, Keith Fairchild.
Jean was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Walker, Iowa, the daughter of Edmond and Delpha (Heiserman) Fairchild. On Dec. 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Marion J. Franklin in Kansas City. She was a lifelong and dedicated registered nurse in the Labor and Delivery Department at St. Luke's Hospital, then volunteered with St. Luke's Auxiliary. She was respected by her fellow nurses and doctors. Jean was the first recipient of the Smulekoff Award for Excellence in Nursing Practice. Jean was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon and was involved in the Optimist Club. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
