Frank R. Edmunds, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Frank was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of the late James and Mary (Jinoch) Edmunds. On Sept. 19, 1954, Frank married Barbara E. (Hutton) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2021.
Frank was a member of the Cedar Rapids Cadets and the Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Jefferson Booster Clubs. He was very proud of his Czech Heritage and was a part of the Federated Czech Sokol and the Czech Village Association, and also served as a board member of the Czech and Slovak Museum, as well as the president and groundskeeper at the Czech Village Cemetery. Frank was a member of St. James Methodist Church. Frank served as president of the Wrestlers Parents Club, the N.C.S. and the M&L Guild. Frank was a veteran in the Army Reserves from 1955 to 1963.
Survivors include his children, Debra Sue Stallings of New Albany, Ind., Dennis Allen Edmunds of Chicago, Ill., Scott Eugene Edmunds of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Lisa Ann Pugh of Florence, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Jim Edmunds, Jerry Edmunds, Robert Earl Edmunds and Mary Ann Grenzel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
The family would like to thank the entire staffs at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center as well as the 5th Floor of St. Luke's Hospital for all the care they showed to Frank while he was in their care.
