Frank Edgar Gray Jr., 80, of Marion, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Christ Episcopal Church, officiated by the Rev. Canon Kathleen Milligan. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Frank was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ruby (Tillotson) and Frank Gray Sr. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Following his graduation, Frank served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict from 1955 to 1959. He was united in marriage to Lois Elaine Kaiser on May 10, 1974, in Kahoka, Mo.
Frank worked as a truck driver for over 30 years. During his career, he was employed by Western Transport, Arledge Trucking, Douglas Blue Arrow and CS Transport. He also worked as a school bus driver for the Marion School District for 10 years.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Frank was a lifelong member of Teamsters Local 238. He enjoyed hunting with black powder and was a lover of country music.
He is survived by his daughters, Ona Lanning of Montana and Denise Peace of Washington; mother, Ruby Gray of Marion; brothers, James "Jim" (Mary) Gray of Marion and Jack (Seliece) Gray of Ruidoso, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Lois, in 2002; and a sister, Suzanne Gray.
