Frank Leroy Clair, 54, of Hiawatha, formerly of Shellsburg, died at home July 16, 2014. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, at Springs of Life Church, 2300 26th St. NW, Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will directly follow the service at the Pearl Street Social Club in Shellsburg, with lunch provided.
Survivors include his children, Shane Clair and Jacy Adair, Jason and Lacrystal Clair, Melissa Clair and Nichole Clair; brothers, Mike, Ed, Jerry and Steve Clair; sister, Marcia Hunt; and grandchildren, Shakota, Shakira, Anna and Carver Clair.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marlyce and Ralph Clair; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bob Read.
Frank was a union carpenter until he got sick. He enjoyed animals, fishing, riding his motorcycle and being with his family. He also enjoyed cartoons, westerns and wrestling.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Frank Clair Memorial Fund at Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust, c/o Melissa Ojukwu, or at the service.
Frank Clair lost a long and very hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by his children, family and closest friends. He has now entered the gates of heaven and is reunited with his mother, father, sister and brother-in-law.
