Francis James Prohaska, 71, of Marion, formerly of Iowa City, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital. Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Brosh Chapel and the Avacentre in Solon are assisting the family.
Francis was born April 11, 1947, in Solon, the son of James and Caroline (Studt) Prohaska. He worked for the University of Iowa in the records department from 1973 until his retirement in 2004. Francis enjoyed raising chickens, ducks, geese and pigeons.
Francis is survived by his sister, Ruth (Francis Sr.) Frauenholtz of North Liberty; lifelong friend, Bill Hanks of Marion; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and a niece, Mary Ann Prohaska.
