FRANCIS "FRANK" FORSYTHE

Francis "Frank" Forsythe, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where family will be available to greet friends at 1 p.m.
Frank was born Sept. 23, 1934, the son of Franklin and Florence (Thompkins) Forsythe. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1952 and married Carol Wagaman on June 4, 1982. Frank worked at Rockwell Collins for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed life by fishing, mushroom hunting, playing cards, cooking, golfing, dancing, spending time on the pontoon, and telling a good practical joke. Most importantly was spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Franklin Jr.; and grandson, David Lash.
Left to cherish Frank's memories are his wife of 34 years, Carol; children, Kim Forsythe, Scott (Zorrie) Forsythe, Paul (Lori) Haskell and Dan (Amber) Haskell; grandchildren; and brothers, Fred (Gail) and Freeman (Barbara) Forsythe.
A memorial fund has been established in Frank's name.
