FRANCIS "FRAN" FISCHER

Francis "Fran" Fischer, 80, of Earlville, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Earlville. The Rev. Jeff Dole will officiate.
Francis was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Earlville, the son of Leonard and Anna (Scherbring) Fischer. He married Sharon Hildebrand on May 31, 1965, in Earlville.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; and his two nieces, Judy (Tom) Kramer of Freeport, Ill., and Barbara (DuWayne) Grutt of Marquette, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in- law; brother, Arnold (Anita) Fischer; and sister-in-law, Immogene (Chris) McCallum.
