Frances Porter, 91, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab in Vinton following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Darran Whiting officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Frances was born May 18, 1922, in Marengo to Ethel Porter and Charles Hartgrave. For over 30 years she was employed at Hupp Electric.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Loretta Rundlett and Pauline (Daryl) Stout, both of Vinton; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchilden and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Hartgrave of Fairfax; her sister, Betty Cradock of Vinton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a number of brothers and sisters; her daughter, Marilyn Hettinger; her son, Jack Westcott; her granddaughter, Deb White; and her great-grand-daughter, Paige Davis.
