FRANCES JANE "JANIE" MRKVICKA

Frances Jane "Janie" Mrkvicka, 75, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial at Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Janie was born March 24, 1943, in Milan, Mo., the daughter of Otis and Margaret (Hopper) Adams. She graduated from Humphreys High School in Humphrey, Mo. Janie was first married to Harold Hendrix. On March 29, 1985, Janie was united in marriage to Charles Mrkvicka in Troy Mills, Iowa. She worked in housekeeping at St. Luke's Hospital, retiring after 24 years. Janie was a member of Antioch Christian Church. She enjoyed camping and attending auctions where she bought lots of "stuff." Janie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janie is survived by her children, Brenda (Kelly) Doyl of Walker, Lesa (Adam) Cornwell of Urbana, Cliff Hendrix of Guernsey, Kim (Shane) Svatos of Norfolk, Neb., and Carrie (Bill) Carnahan of Marion; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Dylan, Chet, Natalie, Brooklynn, Cora and Keaton; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Glenda (Larry) White; brother, Edgar (Evonne) Adams; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Danielson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Otis and Margaret; and husband, Charles Mrkvicka.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Janie's memory.
