Frances L. Daufeldt, 94, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the church, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine.
Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice, West Liberty Fire and Rescue or Atalissa Fire and Rescue.

Frances was born Jan. 7, 1920, in her family home in Muscatine County, the daughter of Elmer and Marie Limacher Jewett. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Clarence Daufeldt on June 30, 1943, in Muscatine. Together they farmed in the Atalissa area.
Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty and was involved in many activities at the church, including the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved participating in the Muscatine County Fair each summer and served as a 4-H leader for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting, as well as spending time with her family.
She is survived by her six children, Gary Daufeldt of West Liberty, Donald (Pat) Daufeldt of West Liberty, Gloria (Larry) Dlouhy of Bettendorf, James (Martha) Daufeldt of Greensboro, N.C., Marlin Daufeldt of Atalissa and Cindy (Dub) Massey of Nichols; 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and her brothers, Earl Jewett and Leroy Jewett.
