Frances "Fran" M. Bieber, 85, of Center Point, died Saturday, June 13, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Sheri Andersen. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wed-nesday, June 17, at the funeral home. Burial: Grandview Cemetery, Fayette.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronald (A.J.) Snyder and Mark (Phyllis) Snyder; stepson, Neil (Nicki) Bieber; two stepdaughters, Ellen (Barry) Lerich and Jeanie (Bob) Biedenbach; brother, Clinton (Rita) Shepperd; sister, Marjorie Phillips; two grandsons; six stepgrandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Snyder; daughter, Marsha Snyder; siblings, Leona Buenneke, Katherine Keig, Galen Chase and Penny Azbill; and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
Fran was born April 27, 1930, the daughter of Myron and Velma (Gardner) Shepperd, in Fayette, Iowa. She married George Snyder on March 5, 1948, and later divorced. On Dec. 16, 1965, Fran married Aliban Bieber. He passed away June 12, 2000.
Fran was a member of Alice United Methodist Church, Alice Missionary and Circles, and the Greens Grove Sewing Circle. She enjoyed sewing and was a specialist at making wedding dresses and loved making quilts. Fran also was a hostess at Murdoch Funeral Homes for many years.
Memorials may be directed to either Alice United Methodist Church or St. Luke's Hospice in memory of Fran.
