Frances Anne Valliere, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Hallmar Care Center at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Frances passed away of natural causes.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a vigil service will begin at 2 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021, at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
"Following the continued proclamations issued by the Governor, physical distancing must be practiced which may require a limited number of people allowed into a visitation at one time and limited seating available at services. The use of facial coverings is strongly encouraged."
Frances was born Dec. 25, 1928, the daughter of William and Anna Doyle in Albert Lea, Minn. Frances graduated from Albert Lea Senior High School on June 5, 1947, in Albert Lea, Minn. She then attended and graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 31, 1950. On April 7, 1951, Frances married the love of her life, Paul Robert Valliere, at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea, Minn. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage.
Frances worked for Mercy Hospital as an R.N. Nurse. She was a housewife and an excellent cook throughout her married life. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, quilting, sewing, playing cards and games. Frances was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids for more than 60 years.
Frances is survived by her three children, Michael (Marla) Valliere of Naples, Fla.; William Valliere of Tempe, Ariz.; Paula Valliere and her husband Rick Wyrick of Nashport, Ohio; three granddaughters, Nicole Valliere, Michele (Josh) Wilske and Mary (Joel) Schuldt; six great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren. Frances also is survived by her brother-in-law, Richard (Mary Elizabeth) Valliere, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and -nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Doyle of Albert Lea, Minn.; husband, Paul R. Valliere of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a daughter-in-law, Janet Valliere of Tempe, Ariz.
