Ford, Betty Jo
Betty Jo Ford, 80, of 1225 42nd St. SE, died at her home Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Betty is survived by a son, Charles Ford Jr. of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Joyce Ford of Texas; a granddaughter, Sonja (Ted) Winders of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Lawrence (Stephanie) Ashcraft Jr. of Springfield, Mo., and Charles A. Ford III of Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica Winders, Brandon Winders and Anthony Ashcraft.
Betty was born Feb. 11, 1931, in McClean, Texas, the daughter of Lawrence and Edythe Payne West. She married Charles A. Ford on March 15, 1951, in Taos, N.M. Charles died in 2005. Betty retired in 1989 after 10 years with Krause Furniture Co. She was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints and Order of the Eastern Star.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gayle Ford; and a great-granddaughter, Tatum Ashcraft.
Betty enjoyed crocheting.
