Forbes, John C. 'Jack'
John C. “Jack” Forbes, 89, passed away July 10, 2010, in Jacksonville, Fla.
He was born July 9, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of H.G. and Cathryn Forbes. On July 12, 1942, he married his high school sweetheart, Virgilene Herring. They celebrated 68 years of marriage. She preceded him in death Feb. 5, 2010.
Jack retired from the Navy and they both retired from civil service.
He is survived by his sons, Larry (Irene) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary (Lorraine) of Middleburg, Fla.; and a brother, Tom (Nancy) of Mount Vernon.
