Foote, Marie E.
Marie E. Foote, 97, of Monticello, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello. Burial: 2 p.m. at St Patrick's Cemetery, Monti. Officiating will be the Rev. Father Keith Birch. The graveside committal service will be conducted by the Rev. Father Donald Plamondon.
Marie was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Buchanan County, on the family farm, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bading) Takes. Marie often enjoyed playing cards, traveling and riding her horse Pansey when she was younger.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; two brothers, Leo and Lawrence Takes; and a sister, Bernenta Cook.
Memorials are preferred.
