Folkers, Gail Rae LaCoursiere

Gail Rae LaCoursiere Folkers, 70, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at her home in Cedar Rapids.

She was born Oct. 27, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Melvin and Dorothy (Wright) Kesselring. Gail married Jake Folkers and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Roger (Annette) LaCoursiere Jr. and Jeff LaCoursiere, both of Cedar Rapids; one stepson, Junior (Connie) Folkers of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Theresa (Jim) Ellis and Dottie Newlon, both of Cedar Rapids; one stepdaughter, Claudia Folkers of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Kesselring Jr. and Benny Kesselring, both of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Donna Engle, Grace Christensen and Linda (Russ) Stolba, all of Cedar Rapids.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Kenney LaCoursiere; one stepdaughter, Maggie Daugherty; and a brother, Gary Kesselring.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
