Folkedahl, Betty
Betty Folkedahl, of Cedar Rapids, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the age of 90, and now joins her beloved husband, mother, brothers, and many other relatives and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Noelridge Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 7111 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born in a Pennsylvania coal-mining town and worked as a telephone operator. She had enjoyed dancing, bowling, tatting, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, bingo, and crosswords, but mostly prayer, her family, friends, old and new, and special cats, Poky and Cuddles.
She is survived by her daughter, MaryLee, and her family; and also other family and dear friends.
Betty will be remembered for her smile and sweet ways as her husband, Erwin, is remembered for his friendly wave and generous spirit. To honor the memory of Betty and Erwin, give someone a smile or a helping hand.
