Flugga, Lavon E.
Lavon E. Flugga, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at The Meth-Wick Community on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. A private family inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery on Jan. 17. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Lavon was born June 19, 1924, in Clarksville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Pauline (Wedeking) Frerichs. Lavon married John Flugga on Sept. 10, 1944, in Des Moines. He died in 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim (Brad) Flugga-Ciha of Cedar Rapids and Sandy Dixon of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Joshua (Faye) Dixon of St. Louis, Mo., and Zachary Dixon of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-granddaughter, Tess of St. Louis, Mo.; siblings, Marva Crow (Tulsa, Okla.), Norma Sulentic (Waterloo), Joyce Fennemen (Clarksville), and Darrell Frerichs (Loveville, Md.); and sister-in-law, Gloria Frerichs (Elkrun Heights).
Lavon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladys DeGroote; and brother, August Frerichs.
Lavon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
