FLORENCE RITCHIE Cedar Rapids Florence M. Ritchie, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Feb. 6, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Rick Gail will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Surviving are her beloved husband of 35 years, Thomas L. Ritchie; her sons, Norman (Sarah) Young of Marion and Mark Young and Rick (Sue) Young, both of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Ron Young, Erin Morris and Brittany Young, all of Cedar Rapids, and Mitchell Loesel of Cedar Falls; one great-grandson, Lincoln Morris; her siblings, Jean Luedeman of Cedar Rapids, Ann Smith of Surprise, Ariz., and Twila Filling and Bill (Vicky) Filling, both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald; and her brothers, George, Bob and Ted. Florence M. Filling was born June 26, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, to Charles and Pearl (Bader) Filling. She graduated from Palo High School in 1959 and was homecoming queen that year. She had worked in various positions with the stores Jacks, Walmart and Big Lots before retiring in 1996. She was united in marriage to Thomas Lee Ritchie on July 28, 1979, in Cedar Rapids. She was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, enjoyed Elvis, liked to dine with Tom at Red Lobster and Cedrel Supper Club, and she loved her two dogs and three cats. She will forever be remembered that although a short woman, she was strong-willed and worked hard for her family. She will be greatly missed.
