Florence June Logan, 87, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
She was born June 7, 1928, on the family farm on Elk Creek near Greeley, the daughter of Lincoln and Lulu (Bolsinger) O'Dell. Florence attended school in Greeley and graduated from Colesburg High School in 1945. She taught in rural schools for two years.
On June 22, 1947, Florence was united in marriage to Paul Logan at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. They later divorced, and Paul died in 2005.
Florence was employed as a police dispatcher for the Manchester Police Department, was manager of the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store, worked at Younkers, worked as a cook for a sorority house in Iowa City, and her last job was as a receptionist at Human Services in Manchester.
Florence loved to sew, knit, read, and follow sports.
Survivors include six children, Don (Jan) Logan of Van Horne, Bev (Lou) Lyness of Manchester, Sue Johnson of Gilbert, Ariz., Bill (Sue) Logan of Manchester, Sharon (Dan) Stewart of Brooklyn, Wis., and Diane Logan of Gilbert, Ariz.; and one sister, Norma Sabin of Cedar Rapids. She also is survived by 12 grand-children and 24 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way, all of whom she adored greatly.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Lee (Bucky) Logan and Linda Backof; her stepfather, Ralph Robins; two brothers, Leonard and Clayton O'Dell; and four sisters, Dorothy Atkinson, Mary Lou Grandstaff, Ruth Kopecky and Nancy Strickler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the activities fund at the Good Neighbor Home or to the Manchester American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, by Pastor Mary Green. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
