Flockhart, Laurie Michelle 'Sissy'
One of God's special angels, Laurie Michelle “Sissy” Flockhart, 36, of Mount Vernon, died on Jesus' birthday, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, followed by a private funeral service with family and close friends by Pastor Cecil Ballard, at Grace Baptist Church, Marion. Burial: Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving Laurie are her parents, Mike and Teresa Flockhart of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Sean of Marion and Tyler of Raleigh, N.C.; grandparents, Bob and Cora Collins of Mount Vernon and Keith and Jeri Flockhart of Stanwood; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Laurie in death were her grandfather, Roger Hines; and a cousin, Jennifer Flockhart.
Laurie was loved by many and brought much joy into their lives.
