Fleming, Robert Earl 'Bob'
Robert Earl “Bob” Fleming, 95, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Hospice of Mercy Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with military services by the Iowa National Guard. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service.
Survivors include son, Tim (Jan) Fleming of Northbrook, Ill.; grandchildren, Tim (Lisa) Fleming Jr. and Chris (Kristin) Fleming; and great-grandchildren, Stuart, Brianna, Sydney and Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marie.
Bob was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, to William and Agnes Fleming. He married Marie Blume there on July 26, 1940. She died in 1980. Bob was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Cherry Burrell in 1979. Bob loved to fish, work in his yard and walk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society or North Shore United Methodist Church, 213 Hazel, Glencoe, IL 60022.
