Fitzner, Corey Allen

Corey Allen Fitzner, 34, of Cedar Rapids, went home to his mansion in the sky, with Jesus, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. A celebration of Corey's life will be Friday, Aug. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at First Assembly of God, Room 110, 3233 Blairsferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids. Please enter through door no. 2 on the east side of the building.

Survivors include his parents, Tim and Jeni Conlon; his brothers, Jakub Zimmerman, Patrick Conlon, Toby DeMoss and Brian DeMoss; his sister, Emily Zimmerman; his care givers, Jennifer and Jeff Barnes and family; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; close family members; and many close buddies.

Corey was born March 1, 1979, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Charm Fitzner and Tim Conlon. He came to live in Cedar Rapids with his Dad at the age of 8. Corey was a part of the First Assembly of God family for many years. Corey attended Coolidge and Garfield elementary schools and Harding Middle School. He graduated from Waverly Shell-Rock in 1997.

Corey spent his time living life to the fullest. He was always willing to lend a hand with yard work or whatever needed to be done around the house. Corey loved his pets and taking care of them. He loved being on the computer and playing video games with his buddies. Corey had an indescribable sense of humor, a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. To know Corey was to love him!!!!

He will be deeply missed.
