Fitzgerald, James 'Fitz'
James “Fitz” Fitzgerald, 52, died Aug. 25, 2011, in Fort Dodge, Iowa after a long illness.
James E. Fitzgerald was born Nov. 28, 1958, to James and Lucille (Halligan) Fitzgerald. Jim received his B.A. from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate of Law from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb., in 1984. Jim practiced law in the Webster County Attorney's office, Public Defender's office and most recently, the Fitzgerald Law Office. Jim married Sharon Crawford on May 8, 1993, at St. Wenceslaus Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Treasuring memories of him are his wife, Sharon; their children, James and Megan; and his mother, Lucille, all of Fort Dodge; his father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Joyce Crawford; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Crawford; and nephews, Derek and Matthew Crawford, all of Cedar Rapids; and many friends and clients whose lives he touched profoundly.
Services were Aug. 30 at Corpus Christi Church, Fort Dodge. Interment was at Corpus Christi Cemetery.
