Fisher, Linda D.
Linda D. Fisher, 65, so bravely beat cancer two years ago. It returned and took her suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013. A visitation will be held Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life, with a luncheon, on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Family Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service at Circle Grove Cemetery in Walker.
Survivors include her daughters, Jodi Fisher of Cedar Rapids and Jaramee (Jeff) Finn of Dubuque; grandchildren, Walker Henley and Maeli and Weston Finn; siblings, Ramona (Bud) Cummings and Co Wagner, both of Cedar Rapids, Terry Miyamoto of Gurnee, Ill., and Larry Bellach of Troy Mills; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jimmy Bellach; and three brothers-in-law.
Linda was born June 1, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, to Lloyd and Cora Bellach. She was raised on a farm in rural Troy Mills. Linda graduated from Troy Mills High School in 1966 and later earned her associate degree from Kirkwood Community College. She married Jim Fisher in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 3, 1968. They later divorced but remained dear friends. Linda worked for Collins Radio for many years and then became a disaster volunteer for the Red Cross. After retirement she was a part-time sales associate for Younkers which she enjoyed very much.
Family and grandchildren were very important to Linda. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda loved to provide for her family. Just two days before she died she spent the day shopping for new school clothes for all her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook who was known for providing meals to those in need. She will be remembered for her fun-loving laugh, free spirit, strength and wisdom.
