Fisher, John L.
John L. Fisher, 75, formerly of Aledo, Ill., Greeley, Colo., and Springville, died April 8, 2011, at Iowa City VA Health Care System. His body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research. A headstone in honor of John will be placed at the Arsenal Cemetery in Rock Island, Ill.
He was married to Dawn Wolfe for 36 years; they later divorced. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. John was a cattle buyer all of his life and had his own cattle company. He was one of the most respected cattle buyers in Colorado.
Survivors include sons, Glen and Jack of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Alice of Clearwater, Fla.; grandson, Dustin Fisher of Windsor, Colo.; ex-wife, Dawn of Gulfport, Fla.; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the VA in Iowa City.
