Filson-Salow, Dorothy 'Dot'

Dorothy “Dot” Filson-Salow of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hospice of Palm Beach Gardens Hospital at age 85.

She was preceeded in death by her mom, Virgie Kirby; sister, Pauline Hadenfelt of Cedar Rapids; father, Paul Filson of Indiana; and grandson, Brad Martin of North Palm Beach, Fla.

She was born March 21, 1928, in Birmingham, Iowa.

She is survived by her brother, William Filson; sister, Margret Henecke of Cedar Rapids; stepbrother, Jim Kirby of Kingsport, Tenn.; daughters, Linda Panozzo of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and Carla Colombo of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She moved from Kankakee, Ill., to West Palm Beach in 1998 and resided at Ashley Cresthaven Villas. Dot was active in many circles and enjoyed bingo, mahjong and especially crafts.

Celebration of Life Service will be hosted by her daughters from 2 to 6 p.m. June 23, 2013, at 3607 Holiday Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
