Ficken Jr., William G.
William G. “Bill” Ficken Jr., 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. David Renfro officiating. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be contributed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School in Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a son, Gary and wife Sally, and a daughter, Debbie Bills and husband Bill, all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Brittany, Maddie and Sophie Ficken and Megan and David Bills; two sisters, Lillian Johnson of Martelle and Venita Mueller of Clarinda; and two brothers, Carl Ficken of Cedar Rapids and Edgar Ficken of Williamsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Steinke Ficken; two sisters, Verona Schmidt and Elfrieda Folkmann; and a brother, Victor Ficken.
Bill had worked as quality control superintendent for FMC Corp. in Cedar Rapids and later as quality director for Cedarapids Inc., retiring in 1998.
