Fernandez, Tamara Lynn Schutty
Tamara Lynn Schutty Fernandez, 33, of Palo, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her home. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Father Tony Kruse. The family will greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the mass at the church on Thursday. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Fernandez; children, Bailey, Bryce and Brady; stepdaughter, Kelcey; parents, Robert and Sue Schutty; brother, Ryan (Lezlee) Schutty; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her uncles, Arlan Cunningham and Earl Cunningham; and cousin, Jeff Grieser.
Tamara was born Dec. 17, 1979, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert and Sue (Cunningham) Schutty. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1998, and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Tamara married Tom Fernandez on Sept. 13, 2008, in St. Lucia. She was the office coordinator at Radio Communications for four years.
Tamara loved being outside and especially enjoyed time hanging out by the pool. She had a fun-loving spirit and liked to go to casinos. Tamara's friends and family were very important to her, and she dearly loved her children.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tamara's memory.
