Feldman, Violetta 'Vi' M.
Violetta “Vi” M. Feldman, 95, of Delhi, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Delhi. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church in Delhi, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville. Officiating will be the Rev. John Kremer.
Vi was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Alice (Hittenmiller) Reittinger. She married Joseph F. Feldman on Jan. 16, 1934, in Dyersville. Together they farmed near Hopkinton until they moved to town in 1965. Vi was also a nurse's aid for over 18 years at the hospital in Manchester. Vi loved sewing and quilt making, crafting a quilt for each of her grandchildren. She was a very faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi.
Survivors include one son, Jim “Butch” (Shirley) Feldman of Dyersville; three daughters, Esther (Anthony) Goedken of Manchester, Darline (Everett) Schuman of Earlville and Shirley (Richard) Putz of Earlville; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph, in 1976; three sisters and their spouses; and all of her brothers- and sisters-in-law.
