Faye Steffen
FAYE STEFFEN North English Faye Anna Steffen was born Jan. 12, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Doretha (Kalina) Stoecker. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Jefferson High School. She was united in marriage to Roy E. Steffen on May 11, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. Since their marriage, they lived in the North English community. Faye loved going to her daughters' musical and sporting events. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing crosswords and having conversations with anyone. Faye died at her home near North English on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. She lived 57 years. She is survived by her husband, Roy of North English; and two daughters, Shannon of Ankeny and Rachel of North English. Also surviving is a sister, Jane (Rick) Poell of Cedar Rapids; and brothers, Rod (Melanie) Stoecker of Cedar Rapids and Guy (Mardella) Stoecker of Cedar Rapids. Faye was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Samantha. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Armah Cemetery, rural North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
